As of today, January 10, 2023, Fine Fettle has begun selling cannabis products to those age 21 or older. Fine Fettle is one of nine operators who have received dual licensure from Connecticut state officials to engage in both medical and adult-use sales. Adult-use sales are limited to 1/4 ounce of cannabis flower, or its equivalent, per transaction. Lawmakers enacted legislation in 2021 legalizing the adult-use of cannabis and regulating its commercial production and sale. How to Purchase Adult-Use Cannabis Products at Fine Fettle
Fine Fettle's Newington, Stamford, and Willimantic stores now offer adult-use and medicinal cannabis, and our new store opening soon in Manchester will be adult-use only. You’re required to present your valid identification, such as a driver's license or passport. Cash and debit cards are the accepted form of currency at dispensaries.
Fine Fettle has a dedicated line for medical cannabis patients in anticipation of long adult-use lines. Pre-orders through finefettle.com are required for both medical and adult-use purchases, along with choosing a pick-up time. Once you receive confirmation that your order is ready, you can then head to the dispensary.
Consumers are encouraged to review product offerings on our official store website before visiting. Once at the dispensary, especially early on, there is expected to be a wait due to higher demand. Our stores have installed kiosks so that orders can be made online, and 'budtenders' can help answers questions and help with the checkout process.
Taxes for adult-use cannabis are about 20 percent, including the 6.35 percent regular sales tax. Of the 20 percent, 3 percent is also a local tax that goes to the city or town where the sale occurs. Ten to 15 percent of the tax is based on the THC content of the product.
Adult-use cannabis sales are currently limited to 1/4 ounce of cannabis flower, or its equivalent, per transaction. Examples of what 1/4 of an ounce of cannabis flower or its equivalent might look like include:
Up to 7 pre-rolled cigarettes that weigh 1 gram each, or 14 pre-rolled cigarettes that weigh 0.5 grams each. Or any combination up to 7 total grams, which equals 1/4 ounce. Two to four vape cartridges, which come in .5 mL and 1 mL sizes. Edibles vary by type and size. One edible serving cannot have more than 5 milligrams of THC.

Tips for Safely Consuming Cannabis
Tetrahydrocannabinol (aka THC) is the intoxicating ingredient in cannabis. THC products are designed to get you high. The following tips can help guide your next adult-use experience.
- Make sure your meds and health conditions mix with cannabis. Consider asking your doctor for advice before sampling any THC-related products.
- Read dosing labels and start off small. It is especially easy to overconsume edibles, so it is recommended to start with 2.5 to 5 mg and wait at least four hours before ingesting any additional dose.
- Don’t mix cannabis with other substances. Cannabis can accelerate or inhibit the effects of alcohol and other drugs.
- Just like you should never drive drunk, you should also never drive high. Driving under the influence of cannabis just like prescription medications and other drugs is illegal and treated as a criminal offense in Connecticut.
- Know when you’ve had too much. If you think you’ve accidentally overdone it, call the American Association of Poison Control Centers at 1-800-222-1222. They’re open 24/7 and are trained to help you. (There aren’t any legal repercussions for calling, either.)
